Hi,
I'm looking to empty my pond in a few weeks, my next job will be to knock the walls down and fill it in, does anyone have any good/bad experiences on doing this?

I think I've seen pictures previously where someone had drilled several holes through the concrete base to allow any rain water to disperse, any tips will be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Daz

Good question Daz, when I fill mine in am going to just fill it with hardcore and flag over it.

Suppose if you want to grass it or plant over it you would have to hire or borrow a core drill to drill lots of holes .
Or hire a kango hammer breaker, or better still a man with a kango hammer breaker.

Sad to see ponds go ,but do post pics we only usually see pond builds.

when i filled mine in i removed all the fiberglass & the bottom drain dish, which left a nice sump hole through to the natural ground course & with concrete being porous i just back filled the hole with aggregate & Wacker-plated it down & topped it off with gravel.

if you forget your history, you will repeat your mistakes, RoyH

Thanks Tony, sad I agree but its in preparation for selling the house, I don't want to put potential buyers off. I will definitely be building a koi pond at our new house

I'll take some photos and post up on here.
