Another play day, but forgot to take picture before started and took the top and a few bits off and bent a little.

Again don't know what am doing and against advice I lopped the top, tried to expose roots.

Hi Tony, the only problem is that this tree should have been repotted in march & i can only advise that you keep it out of strong sun & hope it survives

Thanks Roy,
I will not do any more , try to remember that for next year and will have to keep several out of the sun.

Am enjoying playing but don't want to kill anything.

Hmm, sideways pics, sorry!!

I've been bitten by the bonsai bug too. Did a 1 day course with Greenwood bonsai nr Nottingham in January and I have foubd myself passing sapling and shrubs in so many places thinking ooo that looks like it might make a bonsai....bought a couple of evergreens to have a go at and currently growing on some field grown deciduous babies to have a go at in a couple of years, some before and after pics below the first 2 are the tree from the course

Hi Karen, your trees look good & healthy & you did right attending a bonsai workshop with Corin as its so beneficial to learn from a professional, i spent 6 years being taught by John Hanby & i would highly recommend that anyone who likes bonsai & wants to learn the skills to attend workshops as they are so enjoyable

It was a really good day, went with my daughter who likes bonsai too.
I know there are some issues with the 1's I've done at home left too much on the twin trunk but as I get braver I'll thin it out and the second is too wide and too tall but hopefully I can remedy those in time too, I'm nothing if not patient lol

Look very good to my untrained eye Karen.

Its good fun am sure I am making lots of mistakes, you are wise to go on a course. Corin makes it look so easy and it is not.

To stop pictures appearing sideways its best to resize to max 640 then they will appear ok.
