i was the same paul until 5 years ago clean license then got 6 points from 2 mobile cameras in space of a year, both going up flaming steep hills and in lower gear as accelerating from stop at traffic lights and just over for a matter of seconds,i argued my case as there were no mobile camera warnings up that i saw which they said there were, but i lost and they gave me points and fine anyway lol, both places got new permanent signs a few weeks after no surprise, just for info the M1 cameras around jct40-41 are always on now and set at 70mph and dont need to flash like cameras used to, andi

Excessive speed kills end of......
Dont want to loose your licence, get fined or points dont speed, get out of bed and set off 10min earlier.
Some asain people drive like nobs and speed etc, I see it first hand every night delivering in a wagon around huddersfield and bradford on a night, but guess what, plenty of white working class people do too.
Old saying of cant do the time, dont do the crime.
Oh and I'm not whiter than white either we have all been speeding at some point in our lives, however you have to take the concequences that come with it, if you get caught.
Reckless dangerous driving is not ever acceptable.
Don't think crazy driving is restricted to people of any ethnicity.
Until recently I thought that my encounters with crazy drivers were restricted to youngsters(still usually are)however I have had four very near misses by older drivers(50's) racing on a very narrow country lane in the last couple of weeks
Fair comment if you are caught you pay the fine for doing the crime I have on several occasions(however the number of chances real criminals(non motoring crimes) are allowed before being fined is ridiculous).
Speed cameras and mobile speed traps have A ZERO TOLLERANCE APPROACH,WITH NO CAUTION, just straight forward application of the law, points, fine or worse loss of license.
A few years ago there was a programme on a local tv channel featuring South Yorkshire police, about speeding motorists and driving offences. In the programme a police officer said that they had a tolerance of 10% .
A few days after the programme aired I was caught in a speed trap I was found to be speeding at 42mph in a 40mph limit. As that was only 5% over the limit I challenged the penalty on the ground that I was within the 10% tolerance as stated by a police officer on TV .I was informed that there was NO TOLERANCE.
I agree that Reckless dangerous driving is not ever acceptable by anyone.
I live where there are lots of narrow lanes and blind bends.
Almost every day I see drivers with no thought to the road conditions. If you cannot see round a bend and there's only room for one car why not slow down so you can stop if there is something coming the other way.
I drive to the conditions, if its bad slow down so you can stop, if its built up keep below 30 and sometimes 20 as I have had several children run out with no warning.
While 83 is above the 70 limit on the motorway, it was dry, clear and I had left a large gap between myself and the car in front.
I will take the punishment as I broke the law, but I was not endangering anyone or driving recklessly.
I agree with Tony, "(however the number of chances real criminals(non motoring crimes) are allowed before being fined is ridiculous). "
