PLEASE NOTE I AM NO EXPERT AND THIS POST IS JUST BASED ON MY PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE,FOR EXPERT ADVISE YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONSULT A VET WITH FISH EXPERTISE.

Before adding any treatments check your basic water parameters ,ph,kh,nitite, nitrate O2ammonia.Sera omnipur s Ideally you should never treat without first identifying the exact problem. For people without microscopes,if there are signs of problems(e.g.flicking,skin redness, minor bacterial problems)this is a good broad range treatment.this product contains most of the common koi treatments and some.
Sera omnipur s
Before use shake the bottle vigorously to ensure that all the different ingredients are mixed thoroughly ensure that you know the pond volume and double check the dosage Do not use with salt above 1/2 ounce per gallon [b Do follow the manufactures instructions. Do increase pond aeration
]
There are probably similar effective products on the market, but I am aware of people who have used this with success. do not leave koi unattended in the first 2 hours of treatment

This is for aquarium usage so I think would cost a fortune for a pond.

The main ingredients are Acriflavine and Malachite green. Composition: 9-amino acridine hydrochloride 105 mg, acriflavine chloride 600 mg, ethacridine lactate 3375 mg, malachite green oxalate 79 mg, aqua purificata ad 100 ml.

The info says it
"combats the most common ornamental fish diseases: Bacterial infections, fin rot, fungal infections (Saprolegnia, Achlya), skin slime (Costia, Chilodonella), Trichodina, Oodinium, gill and skin flukes (Dactylogyrus or Gyrodactylus), skin injuries and wounds.

I doubt it will do anything for flukes so I would be reluctant to use it for that.

Laura,
The omnipur S is for ponds in 500ml 1ltr and 5ltr is actually very cheap compared to some treatments for folks that buy off the shelf.

I just recommend it as something broad spectrum ,that works for some people that don't have the means or ability to take scrapes.

There may well be other similar products that our sponsors could recommend.

the bottle shown is omnipur, not omnipur s.I would not use the latter but have found the former to be very useful.

i tested it on some shiro that came in with flukes and it cleared them.

Mick you know you need to get one,I know someone who has one cheap.

1/2 ounce per gallon is roughly 3100 parts per million.

you can practice taking scrapes off the pond sides.

use a cover slip with any scrapes. you can get slides and cover slips off ebay cheap.

as with anything, practice gets you better.
