Hi everyone,
I have previously had issues with one of my 4 inch bottom drains but it’s getting ridiculous now.
The One I keep having an issue with is the one with the standard dome cover. The dome has split again and becomes detached from the stem which then basically creates a vacuum affect. Basically the cover then sits on the bottom which obviously stops the water pulling through. It has happened a couple of times before, but this time twice in a month. It isn’t as though I am trying to pull through a vast amount of water from the drain. That drain goes to a sieve which feeds a 20000 and 12000 superfish pumps.
The main problem is that when it happens I have to drain about 4000 gallons of water off to be able to fix it!
Has anybody else had this issue or know why it happens?
Also do we have any contacts for someone with diving equipment who I can pay to get in the pond and replace the dome again?
Any advice will much appreciated
Steve

Hi Steve you could stick with polyflex 4 x 1/2" spacers under the dome so it cant completely close.

Regards Jim

Thanks Jim,

I think that’s gonna be the plan. Any idea where I buy the spacers please?
I just need to try and find someone with the diving gear to pay to do the job.

Cheers
Steve
