I’ve also wondered this Dan, as offer finance packages on them.

Be interested to hear response, can’t find anything on YouTube about them.

Good luck.

Tom.

Installed a filtreau 20 drum on Saturday from Kings Lynn Koi .
The quality of the drum is unbelievable for under a grand! The drum comes complete with a rinse pump and a amalgam 40w uv .
The people at Kings Lynn Koi very helpful and knowledgable .
The drum only been working 24 hrs and you really can tell the difference !
I would recommend this product , deffinatley won’t miss swapping filter wool ever 2 days !!!

That's good to know for tose just starting out.

Is the cleaning pump in the clean side or does it need its own fresh supply/tank?

Hi Tom

just on a seperate note I noticed that perfect aquatics also offer finance on drums @ 0% APR for up to 12 months but requires a 30% deposit, that being said the drums they sell are the syngery so they are more expensive than Kings lynn koi but thought i'd mention it

kind regards

Cheers Danny, I’ve seen a synergy drum in action at Barnsley koi, impressive, need to read more into them all.

Do these drum filters all need auto fill with them to keep water levels up, as with my nexus currently I don’t need that, where as with a drum filter I believe I would need to install an auto fill. And like the nexus does the water level have to be set same level as filter like with a nexus.

Anyone with information, thanks in advance.

Hi Tommy,

The Filtreau drum is fed by normal gravity feed much as your nexus but the water level in the drum is not as near the top as it is with the nexus. Also the box containing the drum etc is relatively small - circa 2 foot high - so it would probably need to be stood on some sort of support platform in the filter house.

Why don't you give the people at Kings Lynn a call - I found them very helpful with answers to my questions.

Cheers

Paul

4400 Gals; gravity fed Nexus 300 to EA 55W UV (fed by dry mounted Messner 13000) and Bakki Shower (4 tray) directly pump fed (20,000 l/hr) from the pond; an independent skimmer line which is fed through a dry mounted pumped small sand filter, Airtec 130, unheated.

I've got 1 of these drums and tbh I'm very happy with it it's been running nearly a year with no problems what so ever but my only advice would be is if you dont have 24/7 trickle you should definitely think about a water tank to feed your cleaning pump and i have also got mine on a platform as i think the top of the waste shute needs to be about 70mm above water level or something like that, I've tried adding a pic/vid to show you but can't seem to add it
