I'm in desperate need for help with my koi they are not looking good at all.
I've got one with drops that I've given antibiotic injections and salted at 0.47 %.
I've scraped and found nothing keg colbeck has scraped and found nothing.
My water parameters all ok but yet they continue to flash.
If anyone is able to recheck everything that I maybe missing please email me I will pay travel expenses and for any treatments that are used or alternatively please call me on 07923520487

Once they start with obvious dropsy I think they are past saving regardless of antibiotics.
Have you had a deep clean? Any possible place for muck to build up and fester?
What are your parameters?
Is there anything that chemicals could be leeching into the water from run off? Exposed cement?

My pond is fibreglassed and my filter is clear I can see if there is a build up of silt or sludge.
My water parameters all ok with api test kit.and found nothing on scrapes.i can't see how anything could leech into pond unless I've got a leak I did have one on the skimmer but I've revealed it so it's not leaking anymore.

Matty,

Are all your koi flashing?

Any other symptoms?

Is it just one koi with dropsy? If so can you separate it into QT and up the salt to .9 (one and a half ounces per gallon)it might help.

If you and Kev have found nothing on scrapes and the normal koi water tests are fine maybe another pollutant is to blame for the flashing?

Have you done any large water changes?

Has any koi keeper nearby had similar?

Sometimes the water authorities add things to the supply when working on pipes etc.

If you contact Yorkshire water with your postcode they will tell you if any work has been done nearby that they used chemicals on and give you water report as they test continuously (THEY COULD ADD STUFF TO WATER THAT HAS TO BE HUMAN SAFE, BUT NOT FISH SAFE).

You could take a koi to someone like Paula Reynold's at Lincolnshire Fish Health (take one that you don't want back)she might be able to get to the route of the problem?

Just trying to help.Tony

Tony

Matt,

Very important I should have said if you do increase salt level. INCREASE YOUR AERATION .

Hopefully Chris will sort you out.

I gave matt a birthday present,in my opinion he does not have a problem,in the ten minutes i watched his koi I dd not see a fish flick.

He does however have a fish with a few raised scales which following treatment should be ok.
