As you can probably guess from the title i'm after some advice on the depth of a pond i'm thinking of building.
This pond is actually going to be inside an old workshop(soon to be fish house) which has a clear roof so natural light is able to penetrate.
The pond will be 10ft x 7ft but i just wondered if the pond still needed to be 6ft+ deep as it is indoors.
Your advise would be appreciated

Rule 1 visit as many ponds as possible BEFORE you start building. See what works for folks and why.

Most folks say that 5ft is a good depth

That would give you a volume of approx. 10 X 7 X 5 X 6.25 = 2,150 gallons, excluding filtration.

This assumes that the measurements are internal of the pond walls.

same pond, 6ft deep = 10 x 7 X 6 X 6.25 = 2600 agsin excluding filtration and all measurements are internal of the pond walls.

I wouldn't go any deeper than 6ft.

Sure folks near to you would be willing to let you see their ponds for ideas and information.
